Farmers who know the land
The Farm
Crumptons have an experienced team which consists of 4 dedicated individuals and various other employees who have successfully grown up to 1000 tonne of peanuts per year on the family farms in the area. These individuals have been employees of the Crumpton’s family for the past 20 years. These individuals complete tasks such as; soil preparation, planting, maintenance of the crop (cultivating, treatment of weeds) and the harvesting of the crop, finishing with the delivery of peanuts to the factory. Crumptons are leaders in on farm practices and management and are constantly updating their machinery and equipment. If any new more efficient equipment is made available Crumptons update for e.g. Tractors, Spray Equipment, Diggers, Fluffers, Thrashers & Trucks e.t.c
The farms are all owned by the Crumpton Family. All family members play a role in the running of the farms. The Crumpton Family are the only family that can claim they can 100% complete the supply chain; ie peanuts from the paddock to plate in Australia (Planting, Harvesting, Shelling, Grading & Blanching).
Dedicated research facility develops new peanut varieties
Research
Crumpton Interstate has a dedicated facility and team to research the development of new improved peanut varieties and improved processes for on farm and factory practices. The team consists of 2 dedicated staff members and is over seen by John, Robert, Darren & Sonie who also play a big part in the development and direction of the program. The research program was designed and is run to benefit Farmers and Processors as it is owned by the Crumpton Family who are both farmers and processors.
The leader of the team is Ian Haak. Ian is a qualified plant breeder and he has worked for the Department of Primary Industries and a variety of other seed companies. Through Ian’s work we have developed relationships with global seed producers and have gained access to numerous different peanut varieties. We are also in the process of developing our own varieties. In the next few years Crumptons are looking forward to releasing new varieties of peanuts to the market.
Shelling peanuts in unique facility
Shelling
Crumptons have a peanut shelling facility located at Murphys Rd, Crawford. We have an experienced team which operates the shelling plant. The team responsibilities include the shelling and grading of all farmers peanut stock. Operators perform tasks such as drying, pre-cleaning, shelling and grading. They are also trained in the operation of using state of the art equipment ie. Colour sorters, metal detectors and x-ray machines. They are also responsible for the packaging, safe storage and delivery of the raw product. Just like with on the Farms, Crumptons change their factory every year by removing old and less efficient machinery with the newest and most modern equipment and machinery available. Crumptons factory is unique and there is no other factory in the world with as many capabilities.

Experienced blanching team
Blanching
Kingaroy Blanching has an experienced and dedicated team which successfully manage the blanching plant at Murphy’s Road, Crawford. The team duties include the receiving of raw product, roasting, granulating and blanching of peanuts. They are also trained in the operation of using state of the art equipment ie. Colour sorters, metal detectors and x-ray machines. They are responsible for the packaging, safe storage and delivery of the blanched and roasted product and the segregation of raw and finished goods.
Both the shelling and blanching facilities have access to an onsite laboratory to make sure the product meets customer’s requirements and specifications.
